Calculators

The Survivorship Calculator will work out the probability of 4 separate longevity events:

1. The probability of you being alive each year,

2. The probability of your spouse being alive each year,

3. The probability of both of you being alive at any given age, and

4. The probability that one of you will be alive.

If you do the same calculations in a year's time, you will see that your life expectancy will have increased slightly.

This is termed Progressive Longevity - the older you get, the longer your life expectancy.

When deciding on your retirement income strategy, it is important to determine how long you may live and how long your spouse may be on his/her own.

It is important to include Progressive Longevity calculations when funding your retirement income.

The software that we use to optimise your retirement income makes use of the information that the Survivorship Calculator provides.

Have a go - your results will be shown in more detail than on other (less intricate) longevity calculators.

Other Calculators:

We provide detailed calculations (based upon progressive longevity) on how to maximise your Age Pension Benefits.

These illustrations are unique to your individual circumstances and form the basis of our recommended sustainable income strategy.

They also illustrate the benefits of holding funds in reserve to provide your surviving spouse with additional income when their Age Pension drops to the Single's level.
